My family and I are saddened to see a fellow Girl Scout call for a boycott of Girl Scout Cookies just because our organization supports transgender kids.
The Girl Scouts law calls for respect of others and to be a sister to every Girl Scout. I think this includes LGBT kids too.
To our Girls (lesbian, transgendered and straight), we love you and are proud of you for who you are and who you will become. Know that you have a place in this world and you are not defined by your race, orientation or gender. Embrace who you are and treat yourself well, even when others do not. Know that there are people that care about you and love you unconditionally. Follow the TRUE Girl Scout law and the road ahead will become an amazing journey.
